Use it or Lose it!

Use it or Lose it!

Vision Insurance Plans vary from person to person. They may expire at the end of the year or you may only be eligible 12 month from your last visit. Here at PersonalEyes Vision Care, we can look this up for you and assist you accordingly. Similar to Vision Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts may expire at the end of the year. For assistance with these accounts, please check with your HR representative for details.

HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNTS (HSA)

Depending on your insurance plan, your employer may offer a Health Savings Account (HSA). HSA’s are typically offered when health insurance plans have high deductible. Unlike an FSA, the money put into an HSA does not have a use-it-or-lose-it policy. Instead, it earns interest over time and can be used as a rainy-day fund when healthcare expenses pop up. Just like an FSA, you can usually use HSA dollars for anything in our office: examinations, glasses, contact lenses, eye shop items and more!

Check with the benefits administrator at your work to see if you are eligible for this program. HSAs can typically be used in conjunction with any vision insurance plan to offset any out-of-pocket costs on your behalf.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS (FSA)

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) – also referred to as cafeteria plans – are elective, supplemental insurance savings plans. These plans are designed to let you save money in an account, pre-tax, to pay for healthcare expenses such as examinations, glasses, contact lenses, eye shop items and more!

Check with the benefits administrator at your work to see if you are eligible for this program. FSAs can typically be used in conjunction with any vision insurance plan to offset any out-of-pocket costs on your behalf.

To avoid losing your benefits, plan ahead. Schedule your appointment today and use your vision insurance benefits or FSA accounts before they expire!
