Dr. Kumar Patel is a dedicated, board certified, therapeutic optometrist whose practice, PersonalEyes Vision Care of Texas, covers all aspects of eyecare and eyewear. Dr. Patel and the PersonalEyes team are unparalleled in their focus on having you see clearly and look good doing so. He is a proud and active member of the Tarrant County Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Patel was born and raised in the small town of Wildorado, Texas. He grew up around a small family hotel business where hard work was taught through persistent example. Early on, Dr. Patel saw the vast opportunities that came with education, originally inspiring him to consider engineering. It was during his rigorous studies when he realized his passion for optometry.
Dr. Patel completed 8 years of education in medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Texas at Arlington and a Doctorate of Optometry at the University of the Incarnate Word - Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio. He gained his expertise from various established treatment facilities, from the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo to various independent private practices throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Dr. Patel goes beyond his credentials by maintaining a commitment to continuing his education as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Patel has a notable history of volunteering for his optometric profession, having served at both the local county level and the state level. He has served as the president of Tarrant County Optometric Society. Currently, he holds the prestigious position of President-Elect of the Texas Optometric Association, demonstrating his commitment to advancing optometry and advocating for his fellow practitioners. In his free time, he enjoys biking, golfing, and traveling. He is also an avid sports fan and loyal to his Dallas Cowboys. A patron of the arts, Dr. Patel enjoys visiting museums and art festivals. On weekends, you’ll find him cooking for his family, studying cosmology, or working on home projects. Most notably, Dr. Patel is dedicated to excellence in optometry, taking pride in educating his patients on how to achieve and maintain ocular wellness together.
